While looking for an original and creative way to write a book on roleplaying tips for players, I hit upon the idea of writing about some of the characters I’ve played over the past 30+ years. It would be done in a comic book “who’s who” style, free of system mechanics but including a bit about the setting and campaign the character was in, how I came up with the character (including inspirations like actors and other characters I riffed on), the backstory of the character, the character’s “eff yeah!” moments, what I loved about the character, my biggest challenges in playing the character, and what I learned while playing the character.

Among the characters I want to include are my first character, my annoying GM character (before I knew better), my most Mary Sue (before I knew better), the character that started a multiverse, playing a non-alien, the character who changed alignment from Chaotic Evil to Lawful Good over three years of play (and how I pulled that off), the intentionally underpowered character, the unplayed character I put a lot of effort into, a one shot character, playing a 9 year old girl, a recycled character, playing a character someone else created, and a joke character that started a campaign.

I’m looking for feedback. What else would you like to see in these articles? What kind of stuff can I add to the above format to make it more useful/entertaining?
