A bardic revolutionary. A would-be demigod. A mad mutation. A champion of the people. An unyielding ruler. Five Dragons. Five dollars.

This is exactly what the title declares it to be: five dragons, with unique personalities and motivations. I’ve always wondered why this powerful, influential, intelligent creatures aren’t used more a non-player characters instead of just the monster-of-the-week. Long-lived, with tons of magical treasure, they surely must have interests other than sitting on stacks of gold under remote mountains. That’s something I’ve tried to correct with the dragons you’re about to encounter. All of them are presented system-free, so that you can drag-and-drop them into the game of your choice and make them as powerful as you feel they need to be to fill the role you need them to fill. On the assumption that you’ll be using these dragons with the world’s most popular role playing game or some derivative thereof, they are color-free and alignment-free in description. Each has both positive and negative personality traits, which you can emphasize or ignore to suit their tendencies toward good and evil, law and chaos. It’s always interesting, however, to give heroic characters a flaw or a bit of a dark side, and villains some redeeming virtue. All of them are gender-neutral in description (you may want to tweak names a bit), so they can be male or female.
