Between guest bloggers and some of my own stuff , there’s three weeks’ worth of new material in the pipeline. That gives me a chance to turn my attention to some larger projects, namely finishing up the Worldbuilding 101 book. My original intention was to release it as both a low-cost PDF and a printed book via Lulu, Because of the generous outpouring of donations due to my ongoing illness, however, I’ve been rethinking how I want to release the book. I want to give something back to everyone that’s supported Nancy and I thought this hard time, not only through financial donations but well-wishes and other, subtler ways. What I’ve decided to do is release the PDF under a hostage model — and count all of the donations recieved toward the ransom. The PDF will then be released free to everyone, and a print-on-demand version of the book will be available at a reasonable price as well.

Currently, I don’t have a lot of details. I’m still working on the book. I don’t know when it’s going to be released, how much the ransom is going to be (I may decide it’s already been met), how much the print book will be, and so on. I won’t have a ransom button up until I’ve worked out those details, but you can still make a donation via PayPal through the button on this page, and it will ultimately count toward the release of the book.

Again, thanks to everyone that’s shown support for myself and my wife over the past several weeks, and thenks to the folks who have shown enthusiasm for the Worldbuilding 101 book. More news as it happens.
